How Tallycon makes an answer

The figure, the schedule and the proof, from your Tally books.

The same answer in full: the headline figure (1), the summary (2), the ageing schedule with its Total row (3) and the vouchers behind the selected row (4)
Asked: “Who owes us more than ₹5 lakh, and for how long?”
  1. The figure
  2. The summary
  3. The schedule
  4. The proof

1. Four steps behind every answer

  1. You ask in plain English or Hinglish. Follow-ups carry on from the last answer.
  2. Tools read Tally over your office network, read-only, and compute the sums, counts, ageing and tax. Tallycon knows your company's own voucher types and its year-wise companies.
  3. The AI writes the answer from those computed totals: the headline, a short summary and the table.
  4. Every row cites its vouchers. Each voucher a tool returns gets an id for that question. Any id the AI cites that Tally did not return is dropped, so the proof pane shows only vouchers that came from Tally.

A few figures have no voucher to show. Bills raised before the books began, for example, carry none, and the answer says so.

2. What it covers

Area What you can ask
Balances and totals Any ledger or group for any period, as-on balances, filters by balance side and amount
Vouchers By type, party, amount, narration or day, with exact counts and totals by month, day and ledger
Receivables and payables Bill-wise outstanding and ageing, money received on account
Party statements Opening, every voucher with a running balance, bills raised and settled, ageing; a PDF for the party
GST By rate, category and HSN, with exceptions; a GST report for a month
GSTR-2B Questions about a 2B file you load: matched, mismatched, missing in books or in 2B, credit not available
TDS By section, deductee, month or quarter; PAN and rate checks; deducted against paid
Cash limits Receipts, payments and loans over the Income-tax limits, under the 1961 or 2025 Act by date
Audit trail Altered, late, early and post-year-close entries; cancelled and optional vouchers; number-series gaps and duplicates; ledger changes
Bank Reconciliation as on a date, with each open line
Payroll By employee, pay head, month or group, from cost centres
Stock Opening, sold, bought, transferred and closing quantity by item
Comparisons This period against another, across financial-year companies

3. What you see

Outward supplies grouped as GSTR-1 groups them, by B2B or B2C, inter- or intra-state and rate, with taxable value, CGST, SGST and IGST and the invoices behind each row
GST review for September 2026: outward supplies by rate.
  • A numbered schedule: headline in lakh or crore with the exact amount under it, the summary, then "Detail and proof".
  • A ₹ / lakh / crore toggle, and a voucher count with a tick on every row.
  • The vouchers drawn as slips beside the table, with their ledger lines, items and bill references.
  • The steps Tallycon took to read the books, and the cost of the answer.

Most questions answer in about 5 to 30 seconds; a year-long read of a busy company can take longer.

4. Take it with you

An Excel sheet with the question, the headline amount, the summary and the ageing table in rupees, its Total row set between a rule and a double rule
The debtors answer exported to Excel: the Answer sheet.
  • Excel: Answer, Vouchers and Ledger lines sheets.
  • PDF: the schedule, then each voucher it cites.
  • Statement PDF for a party, rebuilt from Tally and refused if it does not add up to Tally's totals.

5. Several clients, several Tallys

A list of three clients with where their Tally is, the books period, the last question asked, and the questions and cost this month, each with an Open in Ask button
The Clients page: three clients on two Tally computers.

Find Tally on your network, save each address, and switch client and company from the status bar. Each client's data is kept apart.

6. Remote access for owners

The office copy of Tallycon answers for paired laptops over an end-to-end encrypted link. How it is secured

7. What Tallycon does not do

TallyPrime already does these well, so Tallycon leaves them to it:

  • Post, alter or import vouchers. Tallycon only reads.
  • File returns, make the GSTR-1 JSON or take IMS actions.
  • Read invoices (OCR) or import bank statements.

8. Requirements

  • TallyPrime, with its XML port on (verified on 7.1; 3.0 and later should work). Tally.ERP 9 works with limits.
  • Windows 10 or later, or macOS, on any computer on the office network.
  • Builds are not yet code-signed: Windows shows a SmartScreen warning, and a Mac needs one extra step the first time.
